About this sermon

Previous revivals came to us and on us

This time, it is IN us and must come OUT of us. Pastor Norman Shum unpacks what it means to carry true revival not as a visiting move of God, but as a permanent, daily outpouring from within — as the people of God who have been entrusted with His Spirit.

Drawing from Acts 2, this message calls every believer to stop waiting for revival to arrive and to recognise that we are the vessel through which it flows. We need to awaken and take hold of what God has placed within us.

Acts 2:17 — NIV

"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

Sermon notes

1

Revival was never meant to visit — it was meant to live

Previous moves of God came upon people externally. This season, the Spirit dwells within. The church is not a venue for revival; it is its carrier.

2

Awakening begins with awareness

You cannot release what you don't know you carry. The first step is recognising the weight of the Holy Spirit within you — and honouring it.

3

The church is sent, not seated

Loved. Empowered. Sent. Revival that stays inside the building is not revival — it's comfort. We are called to carry it out.
